We are looking forward to welcoming you to the 13th annual Boston Indoor Tennis Classic! It will be held June 18-20, 2010 at the Winchester and Woburn tennis clubs, which are located approximately 20 minutes north of Boston.
What's new this year:
Once again, our draw party will be held at Gargoyle's in Somerville, and our banquet will be held at Maggiano's, a popular Italian family style restaurant in downtown Boston.
We look forward to seeing you at BITC 2010!
The Boston Indoor Tennis Classic will be played according to USTA rules unless superseded by GLTA rules. Tournament entrants will initially be placed at division levels based on their GLTA ranking. If a GLTA ranking is not available, placement may be made by USTA, NRTP or club affiliated results. Playing in a lower division due to injury must be cleared by the GLTA.
All entries and payment must be received by June 4. No telephone or fax entries will be accepted. You will not be entered in the tournament until we have received your payment. If you have entered a doubles division and have indicated a partner, your entry will not be entered into the doubles draw until both entries and entry fees are received.
| One event | $130 |
| Two events | $150 |
| Extra banquet guests | $55 each |
A waiting list will be maintained if more entries are received than can be accommodated by the draw. As players withdraw from the tournament, wait-listed players will become eligible to participate.
All main draw matches will be best two out of three sets, regular scoring with 12-point tiebreakers played at 6 games all. Consolation play will be offered to players who lose their first singles or doubles match. Consolation match format will be 8 game pro-sets, with a 12-point tiebreaker at 7 games all. (Singles will be no-ad scoring; doubles regular ad scoring.) Consolation finals will be best two out of three sets, regular scoring, with 12- point tiebreakers at 6 games all. Note: byes and defaults do not count as a round played, so a player can lose in the second round and still play consolations.
Seeding will be based primarily on the GLTA ranking points system. Special seeding considerations may be given as a result of recent tournament results. The final decision regarding such matters will be made by the Tournament Directors.
Full refunds (minus a $10.00 administrative fee) will be given to players who withdraw from the tournament before the draw is made. No refunds will be given after that time. All checks returned for non-sufficient funds will be considered nonpayment of the entry fee and will result in additional charge of $25.00 and withdrawal from the tournament until a replacement check is received.
We will do our best to accommodate requests for housing. If you prefer to stay in a hotel, please reserve your rooms early if you are traveling from out of town. A list hotels close to the tournament can be found here.
