Boston Tennis Classic – Call for Volunteers & Raffle Prizes!

Dear Tennis4All Members and Friends,

Our annual Boston Tennis Classic tournament will be contested at Woburn Racquet Club Friday, June 14th through Sunday, June 16th. This tournament brings tennis players from all over the world to Boston for three days, and is one of the flagship events for our organization.

And it cannot be a success without generous and lovely volunteers! We need YOUR help. The three biggest needs are:

  • Volunteers to check in folks for our tournament banquet at Maggiano’s in the theatre district of Boston from 6-9 PM on Saturday, June 15th. We will also need people to sell raffle tickets at the banquet.
  • On-site volunteers during the tournament for back-up support at the check-in desk, warmup time monitors, etc. We won’t be scheduling volunteer shifts for on-site support, but we’ll need an extra set of hands here and there. If you’re at Woburn Racquet Club and willing to help, let us know and we’ll “tag” you in if something comes up!
  • We need raffle items for the banquet! The raffle is one of the highlights of the banquet, so if anyone has raffle items (or connections that may donate an item) we would greatly appreciate it. All raffle proceeds go to charity, and this year’s beneficiary is the Sportsmen’s Tennis and Enrichment Center in Dorchester, MA.

Finally, we still have a couple spots open in the tournament (we’re talking maybe 5 spots!). As space is very limited, if you’d like to play we encourage you to sign up ASAP on the GLTA Tournament Site. Some draws are at capacity, but you may be put on a waitlist by emailing us at bostontennisclassic@gmail.com.

Whether you are playing or not, please come out to Woburn Racquet Club for the event. We’d love to see you! Thank you for considering volunteering and/or donating raffle items for this event.

Kiss Me Kate at Club Café!

HI folks!

Thanks to all of you who were able to come see ‘Three Sisters’, I really appreciate the support.

Now for something completely different.

I am singing.

I am part of Actors’ Shakespeare Project here in Boston (some of you came to see me in ‘As You Like It’ last June) and we are doing a Fund-Raiser concert of the songs from ‘Kiss Me Kate’ at Club Café in the South End on MOnday April 8th.

It will be a combination of actors from the company like myself AND musical theatre actors from Boston. Should be tons of fun. Our season began with ‘Taming of the Shrew’ so this is a bookend to that production too.

Time to “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” and fall “So In Love” with the Tony Award-winning musical that captured the hearts of musical megafans and Bard aficionados alike!

Join us at Club Cafe on April 8th for a night of revelry, refreshment, and rhapsody. Hosted by ASP Resident Artist Company members and Boston theatre power couple Paula Plum and Richard Snee, this evening will take a look back at some of the best (and sometimes most problematic) Cole Porter tunes from this rollicking and romantic adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew.

An all-star studded lineup of ASP RAC members and Boston’s brightest musical theatre stars will be announced soon.

Tickets to this one-night-only event at $75 and VERY LIMITED — be sure to book your seats expeditiously, as these tickets might be “Too Darn Hot!”

Tennis Clinic THIS Sunday! 3-5 PM

Hi Everyone,

Looking to perfect that backhand?? Wanna try a kick serve?  Not sure how to hold a racquet? We got you!

Tennis4All is pleased to offer an all levels tennis clinic this Sunday 3/24 from 3-5 PM at the Woburn Racquet Club.

Location – Woburn Racquet Club, 9 Webster Street, Woburn, MA

Cost – $40 for members, $50 for non members

Reminder: Tennis and Pickleball Social This Saturday!

Hi Tennis4All

March’s Tennis and Pickleball Social is this Saturday (Mar 9th) from 8-10 pm at Woburn Raquet Club. If you are planning to play tennis, please sign up ASAP. If you are planning to play pickleball, please sign up by the end of today so we can release any unneeded courts back to WRC. Food and beverage will be provided after tennis. Registration price is $30 for members and $45 for guests.

Sign Up for the March Tennis and Pickleball Social

Hi Tennis4All,

Yes, you heard that right. It’s time to sign up for the March Tennis AND Pickleball social. Please join us on Saturday, March 9th from 8-10 pm at Woburn Racquet Club for a fun evening of tennis or pickleball and socializing. Food and beverages are included and will be provided after tennis/pickleball.

As usual, the cost for members is $30, and for non-members, it’s $45.

There are separate sign ups for tennis and pickleball. Please only sign up for one. There are only 10 pickleball slots so they may go quickly.

Registration for the 2024 Boston Tennis Classic, our annual GLTA tournament, is now open! This year’s tournament will be held this summer on June 14-16, and the draws are filling up fast. Register to play in this year’s tourney on the GLTA site today to secure your spot!
